Aye Maung Khoo was a very special friend of ours. He was born in Rangoon/Yangon & came to Sydney in 1972. He & Warren worked together for years.
I have always been interested in Burma - maybe because of him as well as admiration for their leader Aung Sun Suu Kyi.
Aye did not return to Myanmar until late 1990's when he was no longer eligible for military conscription.
Every time of spoke of going he would say..... ' no no no no no.... not safe. No!! no infrastructure...... you will fall & break your ankle on the poor footpaths'!
My sister Jen found a great deal for a planned trip & we decided to go!!!
We left Sydney on 16 November 2016!
We flew via Singapore (had our Singapore Slings on board!!) o Yangon, the capital of Myanmar (Burma).
